  • USACE announces BBSEER Project Delivery Team Meeting on October 6

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District announces a Project Delivery Team (PDT) Meeting for the Biscayne Bay and Southeastern Everglades Ecosystem Restoration (BBSEER) Project Study on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 9 to 11 a.m. “The purpose of this Project Delivery Team Meeting is to summarize feedback on measures and alternative concepts received at the September PDT. The team will also share the initial detailed alternative plans intended to store freshwater for use during the dry season, methods of conveyance and redistribution, and sources of freshwater developed without modeling. Initial plans are intended to restore timing and distribution of freshwater to natural areas such as Biscayne Bay and the Southeastern Everglades,” said April Patterson, BBSEER Senior Project Manager. “We appreciate the continued engagement of the Project Delivery Team, stakeholders and members of the public during the planning phase of this complex project. Your participation during our extended meetings and workshops, your input, local knowledge, expertise and shared data are absolutely critical to the development and success of this project.”

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District awarded a $136,637,750.00 construction contract for the Indian River Lagoon-South (IRL-S), C-23/C-24 STA part of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) to Kiewit Infrastructure South Co., of Sunrise, Florida.

    The South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Task Force Working Group is sponsoring a virtual public engagement workshop for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Working Draft of the 2021 Integrated Delivery Schedule (IDS) on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District invites partners, stakeholders, and the public to join us for the release of the Working Draft of the Integrated Delivery Schedule 2021 at the workshop.     U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, has awarded a $4,173,500 contract to Dickerson Florida, Inc., of Fort Pierce, Florida, for the construction of an upland Dredge Material Management Area (DMMA) O-23 and modifications to the stormwater management system within the Martin County Business Park in Jensen Beach, Martin County, Florida.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, awarded a contract Sept. 20, 2021for the maintenance dredging of the Tampa Harbor Upper Channels to Orion Marine Construction, Inc., of Tampa, Florida, in the amount of $3.45 million.
  • Corps awards contract for maintenance dredging of Palm Beach Harbor

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, has awarded a $5,911,728 contract to Cashman Dredging & Marine Contracting Co., LLC, of Quincy, Massachusetts, for maintenance dredging of Palm Beach Harbor, Florida. The project, undertaken in partnership with the Port of Palm Beach, will be 100 percent federally funded.
