Coastal Design Section

Responsibilities

The Coastal Design Section is responsible for all coastal engineering design and input required for the preparation of feasibility reports, design memorandums, and control plans and specifications for water resource projects under the jurisdiction of the Jacksonville District.

Project work accomplished by this section includes field investigations, studies, computations, and analysis to develop and prepare hydraulic designs for coastal projects including beach fills, jetties, groins, revetments, and breakwaters. Also included are tidal hydraulic analyses to determine coastal inlet parameters, effects of improved and unimproved inlets on adjacent shorelines, and the design of harbor facilities.
