The Programmatic Agreement will establish the process the Corps will follow for compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservations Act, to take into account the potential effects of the specific Project phase on historic properties. The Draft Agreement is the product of multiple consultations with the Jacksonville District's federal, state, and tribal partners and is intended to address the evaluation of historic properties and potential effects to historic properties arising from the CEPP EAA A-2 and STA Project.

The EAA A-2 Reservoir, STA, and associated seepage management features will aid in the overall operation of CEPP, which begins the restoration of the central Everglades by reducing some of the discharges to the Northern Estuaries (Caloosahatchee River Estuary, Loxahatchee River Estuary, and St. Lucie River Estuary) and providing additional flow into the central portion of the Everglades.

Public comments are being accepted through July 24, 2018 and can be submitted to: EAAReservoir@usace.army.mil
