Jacksonville, Florida (July 2, 2024) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District (USACE), will host a virtual informational meeting Wednesday, July 31, 2024 to inform stakeholders and the public regarding USACE and South Florida Water Management District progress on development of the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP), Everglades Agricultural Area, A2 Stormwater Treatment Area Operational Plan.

USACE Jacksonville District issues scoping letter for the Central Everglades Planning Project North Phase

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, is preparing a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) assessment to support design refinements being considered in the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) North Phase Validation Study. The purpose of the CEPP North Phase Validation Study is to confirm project components, construction sequencing, and project dependencies as described in the 2014 CEPP Final Project Implementation Report and Environmental Impact Statement (PIR/EIS) and Chief's Report. In addition, the Validation Study will also validate that the proposed design refinements are necessary for the CEPP North project components to function as originally intended and determine if the refinements require additional NEPA. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District announces a virtual public Project Delivery Team (PDT) for the CEPP Operational Plan on Thursday, September 28, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. “The purpose of this Project Delivery Team Meeting is to provide our partners, stakeholders and the public an update on the pre-formulation model runs and an introduction of the upcoming alternatives analysis for the CEPP Operational Plan in the southern part of our Central and Southern Florida system,” said Senior Project Manager Chrissie Figueroa.
