1. DESCRIPTION
The Martin County Shore Protection Project includes the nourishment of approximately 3.75 miles of beach extending from the St. Lucie County line south to the Stuart Public Beach Park in Martin County. Included in the project is the restoration of the primary dune and a 35-foot-wide protective berm. The renourishment interval for this project is every 7 years.

4. STATUS
A renourishment of the Martin County Shore Protection Project was completed in May 2018 to repair impacts from Hurricane Matthew and provide renourishment of the heavily eroded shore. The contract was funded with both Flood Control and Coastal Emergency (FCCE) funding along with supplemental Construction General funding. The next renourishment interval is scheduled for 2025. Martin County received approval for $14.8M in FCCE funding for Rehabilitation Assistance due to Hurricane Nicole.
