1. DESCRIPTION

The City of Bunnell owns and operates the Bunnell Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) in Flagler County. The Bunnell WWTF is an activated sludge treatment facility that operates under FDEP permit FL0020907 with a permitted capacity of 0.60 million gallons per day (MGD) annual average daily flow (AADF). The City exceeded 50% capacity prior to the year 2014. The projected AADF is expected to exceed the permitted capacity of 0.60 MGD by the year 2024. To meet immediate capacity needs, the project will improve existing facility deficiencies and enhance operational flexibility. It is recommended that the facility be expanded to a 1.0 MGD rated facility. The project is authorized by Section 5061 of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2007.
