1. DESCRIPTION

There are two active Dredge Material Disposal Facilities (DMDFs) associated with Tampa Harbor. These are 2D and 3D. 2D is used for berthing areas (non-federal material). 3D is used for federal channels. Per the 2012 Dredge Material Management Plan, the dikes at DMDF 3D were raised from their previous elevation of 23 feet to 40 feet to accommodate material through 2030.

4. STATUS

The Dredge Material Management Area Raising Contract was completed in August 2015. This contract raised the dike to 40 feet and provided capacity for dredged material for the next 20 years. The Jacksonville District is currently working to balance and closeout the project.
