USACE Jacksonville awards maintenance dredging contract for IWW in the vicinity of Matanzas Inlet

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, awarded a contract Aug. 28, 2023, for maintenance dredging of the IWW federal navigation channel in the vicinity of Matanzas inlet in St. Johns and Flagler Counties, Florida.

USACE begins dredging of Ponce de Leon Inlet, IWW

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, has begun maintenance dredging of sections of the Ponce de Leon Inlet and nearby sections of the Intracoastal Waterway. The USACE dredging vessel Murden is expected to remove approximately 60,000 cubic yards of shoaling material over a 40-day period.

The Corps awarded the $5,898,389.00 small business set aside contract to Southwind Construction Corporation of Evansville, Indiana.

Intracoastal Waterway maintenance dredging at Bakers Haulover starts soon

Bal Harbor Beach to benefit from problematic shoal! A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintenance dredging project within the Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) Bakers Haulover area will start as early as Nov. 18. According to Corps IWW Project Manager Shelley Trulock, the Bakers Haulover reach is one of the top three shoaling areas along the entire IWW. "We have an opportunity to dredge the IWW and put sand on eroded beaches in Miami-Dade County at no cost to the local communities,” she said.
