    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announced today that construction operations will begin for the Pinellas County Beach Erosion Control Project in January. A portion of the work is in response to impacts from Tropical Storm Debby’s passage in 2012, and is 100% federally funded under the Flood Control and Coastal Emergency (FCCE) program.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District will hold a public meeting Thursday, June 27 at the JAXPORT Cruise Terminal, 9810 August Drive to discuss the release of the draft tentatively selected plan for the Jacksonville Harbor Deepening Study. An open house and poster session will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a formal presentation and official comment period.
