  • Corps invites public to provide input on new Lake Okeechobee System Operating Manual

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District invites the public to provide scoping input on the development of the new Lake Okeechobee System Operating Manual (LOSOM). A series of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) public scoping meetings will be held throughout south Florida during the month of February and public scoping comments will be accepted until March 31, 2019.
  • $3.348 billion in recovery funds go toward reducing flood risk in Florida, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands

    The Jacksonville District received $3.348 billion today for long term recovery investments in its area of responsibility, which includes Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The funding will go towards 13 studies, and 19 construction projects that will reduce risk to communities damaged by storm events.
  • Two Jacksonville District engineers recognized nationally

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announces the selection of two of its engineers as 2017 national award recipients. The Society of American Military Engineers, which leads collaborative efforts to identify and resolve national security infrastructure-related challenges, selected Laureen Borochaner, chief of Engineering Division at the District, as the 2017 Wheeler Medal Award Winner. The U.S. Army Engineer Regiment selected Dan Blaydes as the 2017 Engineer Regiment Civilian of the Year Award recipient.
