Public Notice Notifications

The Jacksonville District currently has five categories of public notice notification mailing lists. If you wish to receive email notifications when new public notices are added to this page, please send a request to Regulatory Webmaster.  Each category is described below. Be sure to specify which list(s) you want to be included on.

Florida - This includes all public notices for projects being reviewed for Standard Permits within the State of Florida.

Antilles - This includes all public notices for projects being reviewed for Standard Permits within the Antilles area (this includes Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands).

Tropical Storms & Other Emergencies - These public notices provide information on procedures for emergency permitting requirements due to specific tropical storm events or other emergency situations.

Special Issues - These are public notices that involve the Regulatory program but which are generally not limited to one particular geographic area. These would include public notices for the establishment or modification of Restricted Areas/Danger Zones, re-issuance of General Permits or Nationwide Permits, changes to guidance and policies, etc.

Administrative Penalty - These public notices provide information associated with Administrative Penalties. An Administrative Penalty can be assessed to address violations associated with issued Department of the Army permits.

    Palm Beach County. South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). West Palm Beach. FL. PROJECT PURPOSE: Basic: Water quality improvements. Overall: The overall project purpose of the regulatory action is improve the quality of water flows to the central Everglades (Water Conservation Area 3 and Everglades National Park) and Florida Bay. In addition, if the Corps constructs the proposed A-2 Reservoir, the overall project purpose would include improvement of the quantity, quality, timing and distribution of water flows to central Everglades (Water Conservation Area 3 and Everglades National Park), and Florida Bay while increasing water supply for municipal, industrial, and agricultural users.

    Clay County. The Chemours Company FC LLC. Starke, Florida. PROJECT PURPOSE: Basic: To mine mineral sands. Overall: To mine mineral sands from identified deposits in the vicinity of the applicant’s existing Trail Ridge processing facilities.

    Hillsborough County. Port Tampa Bay. Tampa, Florida. PROJECT PURPOSE: Basic: Maintenance Dredging. Overall: Maintenance dredging of the existing berths, Port channels, and federal navigation channels.

  • SAJ-2019-03861 (SP-DCM), SAJ-2019-03862 (SP-DCM), SAJ-2019-03865 (SP-DCM)

    Expiration date: 2/27/2020

    Municipality of Lajas. Loretta Roberson. Woods Hole. MA. PROJECT PURPOSE: Basic: Seaweed cultivation and harvesting. Overall: To test the performance and feasibility of a farm system for the cultivation and harvesting of tropical macroalgae species to provide year-round feed stocks for conversion to biofuels and production of valuable bioproducts. This project is funded by award DE-FOA-0000-1726-1506 from the U.S. Department of Energy Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) Macroalgae Research Inspiring Novel Energy Resources (MARINER) program to the Marine Biological Laboratory (PI L. Roberson). The projects funded by ARPA-E's MARINER program seek to develop the tools to enable the United States to become a global leader in the production of marine biomass.

    Duval County. North Florida Land Trust, Inc. Jacksonville, Florida. The Jacksonville District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) has received a complete prospectus proposing the establishment of a mitigation bank. The Corps has posted a full copy of the NSMMB prospectus online so that it is available for review by the public.
