  • Culebra Formerly Used Defense Site Restoration Advisory Board schedules meeting

    The Culebra Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) Restoration Advisory Board will meet Tuesday, April 9 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Juvenile Center on Culebra, Puerto Rico. The meeting is open to the public. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) will present an update on its ongoing investigations and future plans for the restoration (cleanup) of this FUDS.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District along with representatives of the Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other stakeholders met in San Juan August 8 for a Technical Project Planning meeting, to discuss plans for the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study for water areas around Culebra, Culebrita and the smaller surrounding cayos.
