    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District announces a virtual public Project Delivery Team (PDT) for the CEPP Operational Plan on Thursday, September 28, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. “The purpose of this Project Delivery Team Meeting is to provide our partners, stakeholders and the public an update on the pre-formulation model runs and an introduction of the upcoming alternatives analysis for the CEPP Operational Plan in the southern part of our Central and Southern Florida system,” said Senior Project Manager Chrissie Figueroa.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District announces public scoping meetings and public comment on the CEPP Operational Plan. In-person meetings are scheduled during the afternoon and evening of April 25 in Cutler Bay, and a virtual meeting is scheduled for the evening of April 26. Public Scoping Comments are due May 15.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District, awarded the second Corps construction contract for the Central Everglades Planning Project Everglades Agricultural Area (CEPP EAA) Phase Reservoir, a key component of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP). This contract is for the Foundation and Cutoff Wall features of the CEPP EAA A-2 Reservoir located in Palm Beach County, Florida.
  • USACE announces public comment on proposed seepage barrier wall in the 8.5 Square Mile Area as part of the Central Everglades Planning Project (New Water Phase)

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District announces a 30-day public comment period for the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Proposed Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the proposed construction of a 5-mile-long seepage barrier wall in the L-357W levee at the 8.5 Square Mile Area (8.5 SMA), Miami-Dade County, Florida. The Corps is also evaluating a request from the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) to modify the Modified Waters Deliveries to Everglades National Park Federal Civil Works project pursuant to 33 U.S.C. 408 to construct the 5-mile-long seepage barrier wall in the 8.5 SMA. Improved seepage management would allow for greater operational flexibility of the Central and Southern Florida Project. Comments are due September 12, 2022.   • Federal and State Partners Celebrate CEPP South Groundbreaking

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Jacksonville District hosted a groundbreaking ceremony today at the S-333 water control structure in western Miami-Dade County, bringing together members of the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration Task Force to celebrate the first contract for the Central Everglades Planning Project, a project designed to improve flows south to Everglades National Park.
