  • Corps awards Intracoastal Waterway, Ponce de Leon Inlet dredging contract

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a maintenance dredging contract for portions of the Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) and the Ponce de Leon Inlet in Volusia County June 15. The Corps awarded the $8.55 million contract to Cavache, Inc. of Pompano Beach Florida. Consolidating these dredging projects is anticipated to result in a cost savings of $1.5 million.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announces the Tampa Harbor and St. Petersburg Harbor maintenance dredging contract award of $4,662,432 to Orion Marine Construction of Tampa, Fla.
  • Indian River IWW maintenance dredging starts in January

    Navigation maintenance dredging of the Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) Indian River Reach 1 in the Indian River Lagoon will start in early January. In addition to improving navigation safety, the dredging will also provide significant environmental benefits by removing muck from the federal navigation channel.
