U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District to host 2011 Safety Pays workshop in Orlando

Jacksonville, Fla. (April 6, 2011) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District Construction Division will host its annual Safety Pays workshop, May 12-13 at the Rosen Creek Resort, 9939 Universal Boulevard, Orlando, Fla.  A special lodging rate of $104 per night is available for reservations made by April 20.

 

In honor of our space program Discovery’s last flight, and in the pursuit of excellence in safety, the 2011 workshop theme is “Reaching New Heights.”  It is dedicated to the safety of the construction industry and is the only conference of this type hosted by the Jacksonville District

 

Workshop participants will have the opportunity to get continuing education accreditation and take classes on environmental safety and liability, electrical code violations, and fall protection. Along with the classes, participants have the opportunity to network in an open forum with contractors, Corps resident and area engineers and safety officers while obtaining valuable contacts and information that is critical to one’s business.

 

The goal of the Jacksonville District’s Safety Pays Program is recognizing the superior safety efforts being made throughout the Jacksonville District and continuing to build partnerships to improve safety at all levels.
