Jacksonville, Fla. -- Jacksonville, Fla. (Dec. 20, 2024) -- REstoration, COordination & VERification (RECOVER) announces the release of the RECOVER 2024 System Status Report (SSR).
RECOVER developed the 2024 SSR to provide an assessment of whether the goals and purposes of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP), including the Interim Goals and Interim Targets, are being achieved or are likely to be achieved. The report covers the status and trends of hydrological and ecological indictors from the reporting period of May 1, 2017, through April 30, 2024.
RECOVER is an interdisciplinary collaboration of agencies, tribes, and institutions that conducts scientific and technical evaluations and assessments to improve CERP’s ability to restore, preserve, and protect the south Florida ecosystem while providing for the region’s other water-related needs. The 2024 SSR satisfies the requirements of the CERP Programmatic Regulations (33 CFR Part 385 IV.G.) to provide an assessment at least every five years. The report was developed through a collaborative process involving all RECOVER participating entities and other scientists involved in CERP monitoring.
