St Augustine Back Bay Study workshop flyer, April 2024

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, in coordination with the City of St. Augustine, will conduct the second in a series of semi-annual workshops devoted to the St. Augustine, Florida, Back Bay Coastal Storm Risk Management Feasibility Study.

The event will take place Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Willie Gallimore Recreation Center, 399 Riberia St., St. Augustine, 32084, beginning at 6 p.m. All residents and interested parties are encouraged to attend; no pre-registration is necessary.

USACE and city representatives will begin the workshop with updates of the study’s progress since October of last year and its present status. This will be followed by an open discussion with study staff of the engineering, environmental and economic particulars relevant to the 17 distinct neighborhoods and three major model reaches currently under consideration.

The presentation will conclude with an open forum workshop session where the public are requested to provide information regarding their concerns and suggestions for alternatives to address flooding in each of the three model reaches. Comments and suggestions will be collected for review and consideration as the study progresses.
