JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Nov. 15, 2020) – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, will conduct two virtual Miami-Dade Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Feasibility Study Open House public presentations Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, to solicit public comment on its Draft Feasibility Study.
The study focuses on the damaging effects of erosion, flooding, and wave attack during coastal storms that threaten structures and infrastructure fronting the Atlantic Ocean in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The area is highly vulnerable to sea level change (SLC) which is expected to exacerbate these damaging forces into the future.
The study team has produced a draft report, which is currently available for public review and comment at https://usace.contentdm.oclc.org/utils/getfile/collection/p16021coll7/id/19570. Public comment is sought for consideration and inclusion in the final feasibility study through Dec. 12, 2021.
The Draft Integrated Feasibility Study and support documents can also be reviewed at https://www.saj.usace.army.mil/About/DivisionsOffices/Planning/Environmental-Branch/Environmental-Documents/. Scroll down to Dade, click on the link, and scroll down to Item #36.
