The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a job fair next week in Jacksonville as the organization seeks to fill multiple positions across the nation.

The event will take place Friday, April 26 at the DoubleTree Hotel located at 2101 Dixie Clipper Road near Jacksonville International Airport.  The event will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

“This event is aimed at all job-seekers,” said Maj. Joseph Sahl, deputy commander for the Corps’ Jacksonville District.  “We are looking for people who have previous career experience wanting to make a change as well as recent college graduates who might be seeking their first job.”

The Corps has multiple positions available in various disciplines that include general engineers, civil engineers, biologists, physical scientists, economists, contracting specialists, realty specialists, administrative professionals, and more.

“We have direct hiring authority for multiple positions, said Sahl. “We are hoping to make tentative job offers that day to qualified candidates who have interest in working for us.”

Jacksonville District offers challenging work assignments throughout Florida and Puerto Rico.  The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers offers competitive salaries and an attractive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life, long-term care insurance, a three-tiered retirement plan, Thrift Savings Plan (similar to a 401(k)), flexible spending account, Employee Assistance Program, personal and sick leave days, and paid federal holidays.
