Some recreational facilities remain closed to the public along the Okeechobee Waterway at W.P. Franklin, Ortona and St. Lucie recreation areas during the first phase of the gradual reopening that starts June 1 2020, in areas where it would be difficult to maintain social distancing for the safety of all visitors. The reopening of these facilities will be announced to the public when it is safe to do so during future phases of the reopening.
