Everglades restoration takes several leaps forward
Construction of the $81 million Tamiami Trail project began in 2010, with the first concrete pour on the bridge deck taking place in July 2012. A one-mile bridge and 9.7 miles of raised and reinforced road will allow increased water flows essential to the health and viability of the Everglades.
