1. DESCRIPTION

The St. Johns County Coastal Storm Risk Management Feasibility Study (Ponte Vedra Beach) was authorized by the June 21, 2000, resolution adopted by the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the United States House of Representatives (Docket 2646). The study includes activities and tasks required to identify and evaluate alternatives and the preparation of a decision document that recommends a coordinated and implementable solution for coastal stork damages in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

4. STATUS
 

The Project Delivery Team (PDT) identified the draft Tentatively Selected Plan (TSP) in January 2023 which includes around 5 miles of beach/dune restoration in Ponte Vedra Beach. The project design includes a 20 ft equilibrated berm and 20 ft dune extension with initial construction plus 4 renourishments on a 10-year interval during the project’s 50-year life. The TSP briefing to South Atlantic Division (SAD) occurred on 15 February 2023.
