4. STATUS

Renourishment of the Sand Key, Treasure Island, nd northern portion of the Long Key segment was completed in 2018 following Hurricane Hermine and Hurricane Irma impacts to the County beaches. Construction costs totaled approximately $52M, with over $22M in FCCE funding. Long Key's southern segment (Pass-a-Grille Beach) is due for nourishment in FY22. The Project Delivery Team is investigating alternative borrow sources immediately adjacent and nearby to Pass-a-Grille Inlet. Material taken from the inlet and adjacent shoals could help alleviate growing shoaling issues encountered in and around the Shell Key Preserve.
