1. DESCRIPTION

The project provides for federal maintenance of an existing 40 foot deep by 400 foot wide entrance channel and basin and extension of the south channel. The entrance channel extends approximately 3 miles in length from the turning basin to its intersection with the Tampa Harbor Main Channel.

4. STATUS

Maintenance dredging of the project was completed in March 2020. In 2021, approximately 200,000 cubic yards of dredged material was offloaded from the upland disposal facility to create additional upland capacity for future maintenance dredged material while providing beneficial use for environmental restoration at Washington Park. Next maintenance dredging event is scheduled for early FY23, and next offloading event scheduled for late FY23.
