1. DESCRIPTION

The project provides for federal maintenance of an existing 40 foot deep by 400 foot wide entrance channel and basin and extension of the south channel. The entrance channel extends approximately 3 miles in length from the turning basin to its intersection with the Tampa Harbor Main Channel.

4. STATUS

Maintenance dredging of the project was completed in March 2020. A construction contract was awarded in September 2020 to offload dredged material from the upland disposal facility to create additional upland capacity for future maintenance dredged material. Offloading scheduled to continue through October 2021. Next maintenance dredging event is scheduled for FY23.
