  • Chief of Engineers signs Loxahatchee River Watershed Restoration Project report

    The Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) signed a key ecosystem restoration report April 8, 2020, that allows Congress to consider the project for future authorization. Lt. Gen. Todd T. Semonite, Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), signed the Chief of Engineers Report for the Loxahatchee River Watershed Restoration Project (LRWRP). The project, part of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP), is the culmination of a planning effort that the Jacksonville District began in 2015 with the support of the South Florida Water Management District and other representatives from federal, state, local, and tribal governments, stakeholder groups, and the public at large.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, announces public comment on the Final Integrated Project Implementation Report (PIR)/Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Draft Chief's Report for the Loxahatchee River Watershed Restoration Project, part of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP). Public comments are due March 9.

  • Corps announces changes to navigation on lower Kissimmee River basin

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Jacksonville District is notifying Kissimmee River boaters of navigational restrictions along approximately ten miles of the river in the lower river basin. The Corps continues backfilling the channelized Kissimmee River segments to allow flows through the historic river channel and restore its floodplain and habitat.
  • Corps announces public meetings for Loxahatchee River Watershed Restoration Project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, announces two public meetings regarding the Draft Integrated Project Implementation Report (PIR)/Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Loxahatchee River Watershed Restoration Project, part of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP). The public is invited to provide input during a public meeting on Thursday, April 18, 2019, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Town of Jupiter Community Center, Room A/B, 200 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458. There will be an additional public meeting the following morning, Friday April 19, 2019, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the South Florida Water Management District, B-1 Auditorium, 3301 Gun Club Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33416.
