U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District officials say operations will likely last through the rest of the week to remove the wreck and its debris field, which are limiting navigation in the Federal channel.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) signed the Chief’s Report Apr. 16 on deepening and widening portions of the Lake Worth Inlet, Palm Beach Harbor. The Chief’s Report outlines the major national benefits of the project including transportation cost savings and increased economic efficiency of the port. The inlet’s primary problems include economic inefficiencies exacerbated by channel and turning basins that don’t meet current world fleet requirements.
  • St. Lucie Inlet Dredging Project update

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announced today that dredging operations continue without delays on the St Lucie Inlet Navigation Project. The work is in response to impacts from Hurricane Sandy’s passage in 2012, and is 100% federally funded under the Flood Control and Coastal Emergency (FCCE) program.
