Public Notice Notifications

The Jacksonville District currently has five categories of public notice notification mailing lists. If you wish to receive email notifications when new public notices are added to this page, please send a request to Regulatory Webmaster.  Each category is described below. Be sure to specify which list(s) you want to be included on.

Florida - This includes all public notices for projects being reviewed for Standard Permits within the State of Florida.

Antilles - This includes all public notices for projects being reviewed for Standard Permits within the Antilles area (this includes Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands).

Tropical Storms & Other Emergencies - These public notices provide information on procedures for emergency permitting requirements due to specific tropical storm events or other emergency situations.

Special Issues - These are public notices that involve the Regulatory program but which are generally not limited to one particular geographic area. These would include public notices for the establishment or modification of Restricted Areas/Danger Zones, re-issuance of General Permits or Nationwide Permits, changes to guidance and policies, etc.

Administrative Penalty - These public notices provide information associated with Administrative Penalties. An Administrative Penalty can be assessed to address violations associated with issued Department of the Army permits.

  • Alternative permit Application Processing Procedures For Activities In Response to Earthquakes In Puerto Rico

    The Corps announces notice of authorization to implement alternative/emergency permitting procedures following recent earthquakes affecting Puerto Rico. The public notice includes a Spanish version (page 3). Beginning in December 2019, and continuing through January 2020, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico has been affected by numerous earthquakes and tremors, which have resulted in damage to infrastructure, buildings, and created hardship for the Puerto Rican people. In response to this natural disaster, the Jacksonville District has received alternative/emergency permit authorization from the South Atlantic Division Commander. The purpose of the alternative/emergency permitting procedures is to expedite permitting of regulated activities that have been determined as emergency situations. Per 33 CFR Part 325.2(e)(4) of our regulations, an emergency is defined as a situation, which would result in an unacceptable hazard to life, a significant loss of property or an immediate, unforeseen, and significant economic hardship if corrective action requiring a permit is not undertaken within a time period less than the normal time needed to process the application under standard procedures. The Jacksonville District stands ready to assist the public through implementation of alternative/emergency permitting procedures. These procedures are effective for 6 months as of 24 January 2020.

  • ALTERNATIVE PERMIT APPLICATION PROCESSING PROCEDURES FOR ACTIVITIES IN RESPONSE TO HURRICANE DORIAN

    Expiration date: 3/1/2020

    The purpose of this notice is to advise the public that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, will initiate alternative permitting procedures throughout affected areas in the State of Florida, Common Wealth of Puerto Rico and USVI in response to conditions resulting from Hurricane Dorian. These alternate procedures will be utilized for a period of 6 months from the date of this Notice, or through 1 March 2020.

    PUERTO RICO and US VIRGIN ISLANDS. ALTERNATIVE (EMERGENCY) PERMIT PROCEDURES FOR ACTIVITIES IN RESPONSE TO THE HURRICANE MARIA. The purpose of this notice is to advise the public that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, will implement alternative/emergency permitting procedures in response to conditions resulting from Hurricane MARIA. These alternate procedures will be utilized for a period of 6 months from the date of this Notice, or 21 Mar 2018.
