USACE Jacksonville awards contract for maintenance dredging of Atlantic IWW in vicinity of Sawpit Creek

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, awarded a $6.9 million contract yesterday to Southwind Construction of Evansville, Indiana, for maintenance dredging of the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) federal navigation channel in the vicinity of Sawpit Creek, Nassau County, Florida.

USACE announces FONSI, draft SEA for beach placement of maintenance dredging in Ponce de Leon Inlet for public review, comment

USACE begins dredging of Ponce de Leon Inlet, IWW

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, has begun maintenance dredging of sections of the Ponce de Leon Inlet and nearby sections of the Intracoastal Waterway. The USACE dredging vessel Murden is expected to remove approximately 60,000 cubic yards of shoaling material over a 40-day period.

Corps opens public comment on construction of a Dredged Material Management Area in Martin County

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District opens public comment on the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and proposed Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for construction of a dredged material management area (DMMA) at Site O-23 located in Martin County, Florida. Public comment will be accepted through June 18, 2020.

Corps’ dredge Murden to emergency dredge shoaling in Martin County

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ dredge Murden arrived in Martin County Aug. 1 to dredge a problematic shoal creating a safety concern within the Crossroads reach of the Intracoastal Waterway (IWW). The Corps requests recreationists slow down and use caution in this construction area. The Crossroads reach is where three federal channels come together -- the IWW, the Okeechobee Waterway and the St. Lucie Inlet.

Maintenance dredging for Intracoastal Waterway underway
