  • Corps announces the second phase of reopenings at recreation facilities

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announces a second phase of reopenings starting October 9, at Corps-managed recreation areas along the Okeechobee Waterway that were closed in March to protect against the further spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
  • Bridge maintenance impacts boaters on Okeechobee Waterway

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District is alerting boaters of a route closure that will impact travel along the southern part of Lake Okeechobee. The Corps learned today that crews from Palm Beach County will conduct emergency maintenance on the Torrey Island Bridge which crosses Okeechobee Waterway Route 2 near Belle Glade. While the repairs are underway, crews will suspend operations of the swinging bridge, effectively closing the route to most vessels.
  • Corps to close boat ramps at W.P. Franklin Recreation Areas for repairs

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District will temporarily close two boat ramps on the Caloosahatchee River at the W.P Franklin Lock and Dam near Alva, Florida, for repairs.
