  • USACE announces virtual BBSEER Project Delivery Team Meeting on December 6

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District invites Project Delivery Team members, stakeholders, partners, and members of the public to attend a virtual Project Delivery Team (PDT) Meeting for the Biscayne Bay and Southeastern Everglades Ecosystem Restoration (BBSEER) Project study on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • USACE announces two Public NEPA Scoping Meetings on Nov. 28 and extends public comment on New C&SF Flood Resiliency Study to Dec. 7

    USACE invites the participation of Federal and state agencies, Native American Tribes, local agencies, and interested stakeholders in providing comments and identifying any issues or concerns. Two virtual Public NEPA Scoping Meetings will be held on Monday, November 28. The first will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the second will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The meetings will include a short presentation about the study and the NEPA process, followed by a comment period to receive feedback on the flood risk problems, including what is important to stakeholders when we look at the problems and potential solutions. The NEPA Scoping comment period is being extended through Wednesday December 7, 2022, to allow additional time due to the effects of Hurricane Nichole and the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday.
  • 2022 Everglades Restoration Integrated Delivery Schedule highlighting unprecedented momentum to be released during November 18 SFER Task Force Workshop

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District invites partners, stakeholders, and the public to join us for the release of the 2022 Integrated Delivery Schedule (IDS) at a virtual public engagement workshop sponsored by the South Florida Ecosystem Restoration (SFER) Task Force on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The IDS provides the roadmap for sequencing of planning, design, construction and operations of both federal and state projects related to Everglades restoration. All participants joining the November 18 Virtual Integrated Delivery Schedule (IDS) Task Force Stakeholder Workshop virtually are required to pre-register at: https://www.evergladesrestoration.gov/workshops/november-18-2022-integrated-delivery-schedule-ids-stakeholder-workshop to receive a secure link allowing them to participate in the Zoom Webinar.
  • W.P. Franklin Lock recreational facilities remain closed temporarily following Hurricane Ian

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District would like to inform the public that the recreational facilities at the W.P Franklin Lock and Dam on the Caloosahatchee River near Alva, Florida, sustained damage during Hurricane Ian and will remain closed until further notice.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District has released the Working Draft of the Integrated Delivery Schedule (IDS) 2022. The IDS provides the roadmap for sequencing of planning, design, construction and operations of both federal and state projects related to Everglades restoration.
  • USACE requests RSVPs for in-person BBSEER Project Delivery Team Meetings on Oct. 26 and 27, with a virtual option

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District requests RSVPs for two back-to-back in-person Project Delivery Team (PDT) Meetings for the Biscayne Bay and Southeastern Everglades Ecosystem Restoration (BBSEER) Project study on Wednesday, October 26, and Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the FAU Davie Campus at 3200 College Avenue, Davie, Florida, 33314. There will also be a virtual option available for those unable to attend in-person.
  • Corps extends public comment period for proposed dredging and material placement for the Miami Harbor Navigation Project

    In the wake of Hurricane Ian and its impact on the region, Jacksonville District has extended the public comment period for its its proposed Finding of No Significant Impact and draft Environmental Assessment for maintenance dredging and dredged material placement for the Miami Harbor Navigation Project at Port Miami, in Miami Dade County, Florida, from Oct. 19 until Nov. 3, 2022.
  • Corps of Engineers seeks public review and comment for proposed maintenance dredging of Sawpit Creek

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, seeks public review and comment on its Environmental Assessment in regard to proposed maintenance dredging of the federally authorized Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) channel, settling basins and advance maintenance areas (AMA) in the waters of Sawpit Creek, the Amelia River and Nassau Sound, Florida. Comments must be received by Nov. 4, 2022, for consideration.
