JACKSONIVLLE, Fla. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District will host a virtual informational meeting on Thursday, June 12 to provide an update on the first increment of the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Operational Plan. The discussion will cover key topics including iModel analysis, evaluation of the Water Conservation Area 2A (WCA-2A) regulation schedule, and upcoming next steps.
During the meeting, representatives from USACE and the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) will present project status updates and seek feedback from participating PDT members.
The Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) aims to enhance the quantity, quality, timing, and distribution of water flows to the northern estuaries, Water Conservation Area 3 (WCA-3), Everglades National Park, and Florida Bay, while also increasing water supply for municipal, industrial, and agricultural users. The CEPP Operational Plan establishes the operating criteria for CEPP infrastructure and coordinates the operations of related CERP and non-CERP projects that support CEPP’s overall goals and benefits.
