Jacksonville District engages Daytona Beach community at FRM Feasibility Study workshops

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 17, 2024) - More than 70 Daytona Beach residents converged on the John H. Dickerson Community Center July 16 to attend afternoon and evening presentations and discussion workshops hosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, for the City of Daytona Beach Flood Risk Management Feasibility Study.

Spellmon, 55th Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, signed the Chief’s Report April 18, 2024, for the Ponte Vedra Beach Coastal Storm Risk Management Study Report in a ceremony at USACE Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Jacksonville hails arrival of largest container ship to ever call at port

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 4, 2023 – Less than one year since the completion of the Jacksonville Harbor 47-foot Deepening project, Jaxport marked a milestone with the arrival yesterday of the largest capacity container ship to ever call at the Blount Island Marine Terminal. The USACE Jacksonville District's Harbor Deepening project provides the water draft needed to accommodate such vessels.

Jacksonville District continues beach placement on Indian Beach Park and Allison Beach segment of Miami Beach shoreline protection project
