    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District is accepting public comments on its Draft Programmatic Agreement for the Corps’ operations, navigation and shore protection programs in Florida.
  • Corps releases draft report on OWW Master Plan update for review; Public workshop scheduled

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District released the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Proposed Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for updating the 1986 Okeechobee Waterway (OWW) and Lake Okeechobee (LO) Master Plan. A public workshop is scheduled in LaBelle and public comment will be accepted through September 21, 2018.
  • Lightning strike affects operations at Canaveral Lock

    A weekend lightning strike at Canaveral Lock will affect boating operations for the early part of this week. Operators with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District will be operating the lock on a restricted schedule. Locking operations will be conducted at the top of every hour between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. at the structure, located between the Banana River and Port Canaveral’s west turning basin along Florida’s Space Coast. The Corps advises boaters to plan for potential delays over the next three days, while repairs continue.
