USACE adjusts release schedule for Lake Okeechobee

Published July 18, 2018

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Jacksonville District has adjusted flows on the 14-day water release schedule from Lake Okeechobee.

The releases will continue to achieve a 14-day average of 3,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) from Moore Haven Lock & Dam (S-77) and 1,800 cfs from St. Lucie Lock & Dam (S-80). However, USACE staff will reduce discharge rates to the Caloosahatchee over the next nine days, resulting in one day of no flows from the lake. The release schedule for the St. Lucie is unchanged, although runoff from rain in the St. Lucie basin could occasionally result in flows that exceed the target.
