The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Autoridad de Energía Eléctrica (AEE) inspect the Guajataca Dam after the passing of Hurricane Fiona. Guajataca Dam is one of the 37 dams around the Island. Pictured here is the spillway plunge pool with the siphon valve open to discharge enough water to the Guajataca River. USACE and AEE are partners to ensure that structures such as the Guajataca Dam are monitored and inspected as a part of our overall Dam Safety program. Life safety is our number one priority.
