Kim Taplin was on the Corps team that worked with the Governor's Commission for Sustainable South Florida to develop a conceptual plan for Everglades restoration
Kim Taplin was there at the beginning of Everglades restoration, working with Dick Pettigrew who led the Governor’s Commission for Sustainable South Florida and was recently honored at the 37th Annual Everglades Coalition. At the event, pictured left to right, are Dick Pettigrew, and other key players in the early days of Everglades restoration, including Maggy Hurchalla, Jim Murley, Kim Taplin, and former Jacksonville District Commander Rock Salt, joined by Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. Their work resulted in the Corps developing a conceptual plan for Everglades restoration, which ultimately became the basis for the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) and continues as the blueprint for Everglades restoration.
