Map of rehabilitation activities
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers continues rehabilitation of the Herbert Hoover Dike surrounding Lake Okeechobee in south Florida. This map shows current and future rehabilitation activities. The Corps has installed 21 miles of seepage barrier, commonly known as a partial cutoff wall, in the area marked "Reach 1." The Corps plans to resume installation of additional cutoff wall within the next year in the area west of Belle Glade. The Corps is also replacing 26 water control structures, commonly known as culverts, in various locations around the lake.
