1. DESCRIPTION
The project is on the west coast of Puerto Rico, about 120 miles west of San Juan. The authorized project provides for an approach channel to the deep-water terminal, 30 feet deep, 1,000 feet wide at seaward end, decreasing to 500 feet width opposite westerly end of terminal, thence same width to easterly end of terminal.

4. STATUS
The harbor received damages from Hurricane Maria & Irma. As a result, Mayaguez Harbor received funding to remove shoaled material resulting from the storm impacts. The contract to dredge approximately 100K Cubic Yards of material was awarded in January 2020. Mayaguez Harbor was awarded on June 2020. This effort was completed on November 2020.
