USACE announces LOSOM PDT Meeting on August 25

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announces a Lake Okeechobee System Operating Manual (LOSOM) Project Delivery Team (PDT) Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 25, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The purpose of the August 25 Project Delivery Team Meeting is to kick off Iteration 3 operational guidance development.

Corps maintains current flow pattern from Lake Okeechobee

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District will maintain water releases from Lake Okeechobee at current rates for the Caloosahatchee Estuary. The Corps plans to target flows at a seven-day average of 650 cubic feet per second (cfs) measured at the W.P. Franklin Lock and Dam (S-79). No releases are planned through the St. Lucie Lock and Dam (S-80) at this time.

Corps to continue releases from Lake Okeechobee at current rates

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District will maintain its current “pulse-release” pattern from Lake Okeechobee, while recognizing that an uncertain weather forecast may necessitate changes over the next week. The target flow for the Caloosahatchee Estuary remains at a seven-day average of 2,800 cubic feet per second (cfs) as measured at W.P. Franklin Lock & Dam (S-79) located near Fort Myers. The target flow for the St. Lucie Estuary remains at a seven-day average of 650 cfs as measured at St. Lucie Lock & Dam (S-80) near Stuart.
