JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Jacksonville District invites Project Delivery Team members, stakeholders, partners, and members of the public to attend a virtual Project Delivery Team (PDT) meeting for the Central and Southern Florida (C&SF) Flood Resiliency (Section 216) Study for the Miami River and Nearby Basins on Friday, July 10th, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The purpose of the study is to identify the need to provide continued flood risk management (FRM) to reduce the most immediate risk to the C&SF Project due to changing conditions including sea level rise, change in weather patterns, land development, and population growth in the lower east coast of Florida in Miami-Dade County. The FRM measures being evaluated include a combination of structural, non-structural, and natural and nature-based features. The focus of the study is to reduce flood risk and increase flood resiliency in high-risk urban watersheds in the Miami River and Nearby Basins, which is located in central Miami-Dade County.
