Blue Roof Application Mobile Collection Dates Set in Sarasota, Hillsborough, and Polk Counties

The 25 eligible counties included in the program are Brevard, Citrus, Charlotte, DeSoto, Flagler, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Manatee, Martin, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Lucie, Sumter, and Volusia Counties. The initial sign-up period is set for 21 days and ends November 14. Operation Blue Roof is a priority mission managed by the USACE on behalf of FEMA. It protects property, reduces temporary housing costs, and allows residents to remain in their homes while recovering from the storm. SARASOTA, Fla. -- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Operation Blue Roof teams will be stationed at the following locations from Oct. 24 to Oct. 25:

•    Sarasota County – Rotary Club of Englewood, 200 S. Indiana Ave. Sarasota, Florida 34223

•    Polk County – W. H. Stuart Center, 1710 US Highway 17S, Bartow, Florida 33830

•    Hillsborough County – Progress Village Park, 8701 Progress Blvd, Tampa, Florida 33619

The teams will be set up between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Sarasota and Hillsborough Counties and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Polk County, for residents impacted by Hurricane Milton to stop by and sign up for blue roof assistance using a Right of Entry (ROE) form. Residents can also sign-up at www.blueroof.gov, or by calling 888-ROOF-BLU (888-766-3258). The ROE is a legal document that allows USACE workers to access your roof and gives permission for contracted crews to work on your roof.
