JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announced that it received authority to issue emergency permitting procedures in response to conditions resulting from Hurricane Debby that affected Florida throughout the week of August 5, 2024.

The Corps of Engineers regulations define an emergency as a situation, which would result in an unacceptable hazard to life, a significant loss of property or an immediate, unforeseen, and significant economic hardship if corrective action requiring a permit is not undertaken within a time period less than the normal time needed to process the application under standard procedures.

These alternate/emergency procedures will be effective through March 4, 2025. A Corps-issued public notice announcing these emergency procedures is available at: http://www.saj.usace.army.mil/Missions/Regulatory/Public-Notices/

Applicants seeking to avail themselves of emergency permitting procedures should submit an Emergency Permit Request form via email to their local permitting section to expedite the processing of the application.

This request form and other helpful information can be found on our web page at https://www.saj.usace.army.mil/Missions/Regulatory/.

Permitting section office locations and email addresses are listed at https://www.saj.usace.army.mil/Missions/Regulatory/Office-Locations/.

Applicants should clearly label their requests “Emergency Permitting” to assist Regulatory staff in readily distinguishing such requests from non-emergency applications.
