Mid-Town Beach renourishment project mobilizes this month in Palm Beach

Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act this Notice of Availability of the draft Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA) and proposed Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) support the Preliminary Project Operations Manual (PPOM) for the Indian River Lagoon-South (IRL-S) C-44 Reservoir and Stormwater Treatment Area (R/STA). The C-44 R/STA is a feature of the IRL-S Restoration Project in Martin County, Florida. The purpose of the IRL-S Project is for restoration of the southern Indian River Lagoon and the St. Lucie Estuary ecosystem in Martin, St. Lucie and Okeechobee Counties, Florida.

The 56 reissued and one new nationwide permit in the final action are necessary for work in streams, wetlands and other waters of the United States under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1899.

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and USACE are proposing modifications to the authorized CEPP North Phase features that would improve the L-4 Canal and replace the authorized L-4 Levee Degrade with culverts and spreader canals.
