1. DESCRIPTION

The project provides for federal maintenance of an existing 40-feet-deep by 400-feet-wide entrance channel and basin and extension of the south channel. The entrance channel extends approximately 3 miles in length from the turning basin to its intersection with the Tampa Harbor Main Channel.

4. STATUS

Maintenance dredging of the project was completed in March 2020. In 2021, approximately 200,000 cubic yards of dredged material was offloaded from the upland disposal facility to create additional upland capacity for future maintenance dredged material while providing beneficial use for environmental restoration at Washington Park. The next maintenance dredging event is scheduled to be completed in FY23, and the next offloading event is scheduled for contract award in late FY23.
