1. DESCRIPTION
The Rivers and Harbors Act of 1962 authorized the project as a reimbursable project for Jupiter/Carlin, Ocean Ridge, Delray Beach, and North Boca Raton segments located within Palm Beach County. The Jupiter/Carlin segment extends approximately 1.1 miles from Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) monument R-13 to R-19. The Ocean Ridge segment extends approximately 1.42 miles from R-152 at the South Lake Worth Inlet to R-159. The Delray Beach segment extends approximately 2.65 miles from just north of R-175 at the Delray Beach city limit to R-188. The North Boca segment extends approximately 1.45 miles from R-205 to just south of R-212.

4. STATUS
Completed nourishment of all four segments between November 2019 and April 2020 using Bi-Partisan Budget Act of 2018 (BBA18) Supplemental funding as a result of impacts encountered due to Hurricane Irma in 2017.
The Jupiter/Carlin segment consisted of placing approximately 422,000 cubic yards (cy) of material between November 2019 and January 2020. The Ocean Ridge segment consisted of placing approximately 464,000 cy of material in March 2020. The Delray Beach segment consisted of placing approximately 365,000 cy of material between January and March 2020. The North Boca Raton segment consisted of placing approximately 564,000 cy of material between January and April 2020.
A Section 934 (WRDA 1996) report for the Jupiter/Carlin segment was completed by the Corps in August 2018 and was approved by ASA(CW) in July 2019. The Section 934 Report will extend Federal participation to 2045. A Project Partnership Agreement (PPA) Amendment is currently being prepared to incorporate the additional Federal involvement with execution anticipated in November 2022.
The Corps is currently preparing a PPA Amendment for the Delray Beach segment to incorporate the 6-year extension of Federal participation from 2023 to 2029 under WRDA 2018. The PPA Amendment’s execution is anticipated by September 2022.
