Construction costs totaled approximately $52M, with over $22M in FCCE funding. Long Key's southern segment (Pass-a-Grille Beach) is due for nourishment in FY22. The Project Delivery Team is investigating alternative borrow sources immediately adjacent and nearby to Pass-a-Grille Inlet. Material taken from the inlet and adjacent shoals could help alleviate growing shoaling issues encountered in and around the Shell Key Preserve.
