Public Notice Notifications

The Jacksonville District currently has five categories of public notice notification mailing lists. If you wish to receive email notifications when new public notices are added to this page, please send a request to Regulatory Webmaster.  Each category is described below. Be sure to specify which list(s) you want to be included on.

Florida - This includes all public notices for projects being reviewed for Standard Permits within the State of Florida.

Antilles - This includes all public notices for projects being reviewed for Standard Permits within the Antilles area (this includes Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands).

Tropical Storms & Other Emergencies - These public notices provide information on procedures for emergency permitting requirements due to specific tropical storm events or other emergency situations.

Special Issues - These are public notices that involve the Regulatory program but which are generally not limited to one particular geographic area. These would include public notices for the establishment or modification of Restricted Areas/Danger Zones, re-issuance of General Permits or Nationwide Permits, changes to guidance and policies, etc.

Administrative Penalty - These public notices provide information associated with Administrative Penalties. An Administrative Penalty can be assessed to address violations associated with issued Department of the Army permits.

SAJ-1997-01650 (SP-NML) - 3/27/2015: Monroe. Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Design and Recreation. PROJECT PURPOSE: Basic: To minimize wave action, shoreline protection and prevent erosion. Overall: To minimize wave action, shoreline protection and prevent erosion at Fort Zachary Taylor Historical State Park, Key West, Monroe County, Florida.

SAJ-2014-03297 (SP-CSH) - 3/26/2015: Sarasota County. City of Sarasota Public Works. Sarasota, Florida PROJECT PURPOSE: Basic: Shoreline stabilization and water access Overall: Stabilize the eroding shoreline along City Island to provide safe access from Sarasota Bay to the upland public recreational park

SAJ-108 - 3/24/2015: SAJ-108: General authority is given to the Mobile District Operations Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to administer this permit for the following minor work subject to special conditions limiting aquatic impacts: Construction and/or maintenance of boathouses/hoists, piers, and appurtenant structures; dredging of new and existing boat slips, canals or navigation channels; construction of water intake and discharge structures; and shoreline stabilization within waters and shorelines subject to the Lake Seminole Shoreline Management Plan.

SAJ-2014-00219 (SP-BEM) - 3/23/2015: Lee County. Natural Resources Division, Fort Myers, Florida. PROJECT PURPOSE: Basic: Inlet restoration. Overall: Restore New Pass inlet and nearby waters to previous navigable depths and utilize suitable sand for local beach nourishment

SAJ-111 - 3/20/2015: SAJ-111. To simplify and speed evaluation of Department of the Army permit applications, the Jacksonville District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers promulgates Regional and Programmatic General Permits (general permits) to authorize a variety of minor activities. Each general permit is valid for a five-year period. General authority is given to the St. Johns River Water Management District to administer this permit for the discharge of fill material for activities required for the construction or expansion of residential, commercial, or institutional building foundations and building pads and attendant features that are necessary for the use and maintenance of the structures.
