  • Corps begins water release to Caloosahatchee River

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 23, 2012) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District has announced it has begun releasing water from Lake Okeechobee to the Caloosahatchee River to ease growing concerns about algal blooms.
  • Corps to host public meeting for Avon Park Army Airfield

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District, will host a community meeting Tuesday, Apr. 24 to provide information and receive input about the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) for the former Avon Park Army Airfield.
  • Early morning road closure on Tamiami Trail April 5 and April 9

    The eastbound and westbound lanes of Tamiami Trail, State Road 90, U.S. Route 41, near the Tamiami Trail bridge project will be closed during the early morning hours Thursday, April 5 from 4 to 4:30 a.m. and also on Monday, April 9 from 4 to 4:30 a.m.
  • Corps to suspend water releases to Caloosahatchee

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District has announced it will suspend additional releases of water from Lake Okeechobee to the Caloosahatchee River, due to falling lake levels and dry conditions.
