  • Corps awards funding for Mayaguez Harbor maintenance dredging in Puerto Rico

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District awarded an additional $1.63 million, May 21, to a previously issued contract to Weeks Marine, Inc., for the Arecibo harbor maintenance dredging. The additional funding increases the total contract awarded this past January to $6.3 million and now includes maintenance dredging of the Mayaguez harbor in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will dredge a problematic shoal located within the Crossroads reach of the Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) in Martin County starting this week and ending work in mid-July.
  • Corps awards Intracoastal Waterway, Ponce de Leon Inlet dredging contract

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a maintenance dredging contract for portions of the Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) and the Ponce de Leon Inlet in Volusia County June 15. The Corps awarded the $8.55 million contract to Cavache, Inc. of Pompano Beach Florida. Consolidating these dredging projects is anticipated to result in a cost savings of $1.5 million.
  • St. Lucie Inlet Dredging Project update

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District announced today that dredging operations continue without delays on the St Lucie Inlet Navigation Project. The work is in response to impacts from Hurricane Sandy’s passage in 2012, and is 100% federally funded under the Flood Control and Coastal Emergency (FCCE) program.
